Abbas Ali told PDI media Coordinator that Sindh government
to rehabilitee 2010 rain flood communities got loan of 650 million dollar from
Asian Development Bank and approved schemes in road, agriculture, Irrigation
and for National High way Authority . He said that 131 million dollars were
proposed for works and service
departments in which money was allocated for restructuring and making new roads
schemes in flood devastated districts , 234 million dollars for
Irrigation department to revitalize and
construction of damaged bunds and canals , 285 million dollars proposed
for National High Authority departments for reconstruction of damaged roads . He
told PDI Media Coordinator that Planning and Development Authority has been
completed its damaged assessment and requested for loan from Asian Development
Bank for 2011 rain flood response but yet no grant or loan received by Sindh
government . He said that Sindh government had spent Rs 30 million from non
development expenditure for 2011 rain flood response.
He added that Planning and Development Departments after
receiving proposed schemes from all departments approved schemes and its
responsibility of respective departments to propose schemes to strengthen
capacity building and infrastructure of respective departments to effectively
combat with riverine or rain flood devastation.
